At The Abbots Langley After School Club we recognise the importance of play to a child’s development. As play workers we support and facilitate play, and do not seek to control or direct it. We will never force children to participate in play, but allow children to initiate and direct the experience for themselves.During their time with us children can take part in a range of activities. We offer a wide variety of play resources that are available for the children to select during their session. Club staff plan weekly projects with the children so that our activities reflect the interests of the children in our care. These projects may compliment an area of learning that the children are covering at school or may be something completely new for them to experience. Children will be given the opportunity to spend time outdoors during their session unless weather conditions are particularly bad. In these instances we will use the hall for physical play and games.
